Managed Services

Developing and delivering managed services in a number of formats is a key activity of Collabro.

The content may vary but the proprietary Collabro tools and processes are consistent across projects as we build on the success of Vantage POB to its current status as 'one of the longest standing and most successful examples of a shared service in Scotland' (Allan Sutherland, Oracle)’.

Here is how it works

All organisations have activities that need undertaking that are vital to their continued viability but which are in no way connected to their competitive advantage.

Bespoke one-off solutions are costly and can sometimes be subject to very expensive technology obsolescence.

However, if a number of organisations all have the same non-competitive activity to undertake, Collabro can ensure that they can collectively benefit from the same service from one managed source - Collabro.

All organisations then benefit from cost savings by sharing the fixed overheads and the costs of updating technology etc and they also see intangible benefits from adopting a standard approach.

Benefits to your organisation will include

  • New but experienced staff are immediately familiar with the system when they arrive because, as the industry standard, they were using it at their previous employer (useful when dealing with a workforce as mobile as that in the UK upstream industry)
  • The one standard approach allows all participants to work with current best practice solutions maintained by the managed service provider
  • Dialogue with peers via user groups / governance board meetings often identifies additional collaborative opportunities

So this is what we do at Collabro:

  1. We identify the opportunities for a multiple-participant managed (shared) service, either by discussion with the user of the service (maybe a group of oil companies) or with the developer of the solution for example a service company or companies recognising that what they offer is an appropriate candidate.
  2. We ensure that the business case for the proposed shared service approach is robust and that the market exists.
  3. We move the project into development.
  4. Beyond development there are a number of routes to final delivery, as our case studies demonstrate.
  5. Finally, Collabro acts as the delivery mechanism for the service, managing its delivery on behalf of the users and the solution providers, acting as the hub between all the parties.
